<konpon tyuudou>
The Konpon Chudo, a National Treasure and the main hall of Enryaku-ji. Major renovation work, the first in around 60 years since 2016, has begun; during this period, visitors will be able to see the work up close, including the replacement of the thatched roof. The major renovation is scheduled to last for ten years, but visitors will still be able to enter the hall.
When I went there, it was still undergoing renovation work. I had some soba at Tsuruki Soba near konpon Chudo, but unfortunately they didn’t have their popular tezaru soba…. It was a cosy little canteen, a bit like a university canteen.
Hieizan Enryaku-ji is a power spot associated with my fuusui element, so when I went there, I was absolutely amazed. The Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva and the Three-Faced Daikokuten. I just couldn’t resist snapping a photo.
Hie Shrine in Akasaka had also become a personal power spot for me, so Hie Shrine and hieizan Enryaku-ji (Hiyoshi Taisha) are essentially a set within the Sannō faith.
It also mentioned the incident when Oda Nobunaga set fire to Hieizan.
